Dr Campbell is a Consultant Haematologist, NRS Clinical Fellow and Honorary Senior Lecturer for Edinburgh University based at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. She trained at Imperial College London, undertaking an intercalated BSc for which she was awarded First Class Honours. During her training she was successful in securing a Welcome Trust funded PhD which was awarded in 2018.
Dr Campbell is the SEScotland Transplant Programme Director, Cellular therapy Lead, Clinical Lead for SEScotland HMDS and NHSL's Haematology Clinical Trials Programme Lead.
She is currently PI on over 10 clinical trials including five phase 1 studies having established the Haematology Phase 1 Unit in SEScotland shortly after her appointment in 2020. She is involved in a number of collaborative research projects with colleagues in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and have collaborated successfully with industry in grant proposals.
She is also a member of a number of National programmes including ECMC, UK Early Phase Investigator Network, NCRI AML working group, BSBMT working group, NA-ATTC working group, Scottish HMDS H@Ts Chair and Haematology Lead for the Scottish genomics review.
