There are a wide variety of people and roles involved involved in your care here at the Cancer Centre. Here are just some of the uniforms you may see while visiting us
Doctors, Pharmacists, Professional Staff
Doctors, Pharmacists and other Professional Staff do not have an official uniform but can be identified by their name badge or lanyard.
Clinical Nurse Managers / Consultant Nurse
Clinical Nurse Managers and Consultant Nurses can be identified by their Smoked berry burgundy tunic with navy trims.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners
Advanced Nurse Practitioners can be identified by their navy coloured tunic with red coloured trims.
Allied Health Professionals
Allied Health Professionals can be identified by their mediterranean blue tunic with navy trims. Allied Health Professionals include:
- Radiographers
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Dietitians
Senior Charge Nurses
A Senior Charge Nurse oversees the daily operations on the ward, ensuring high standards of patient care and coordinating the nursing team.
Senior Charge Nurses can be identified by their navy coloured tunic with pale sky blue trims.
They may be wearing a red badge with “Nurse in charge” written on it, indicating they are the nurse in charge of the shift.
Registered Nurses
Registered Nurses can be identified by their cornflower blue tunic with navy trims.
They may be wearing a red badge with “Nurse in charge” written on it, indicating they are the nurse in charge of the shift.
Clinical Support Workers
Clinical Support Workers can be identified by their pale sky blue tunic or pale sky blue polo shirt with navy trims.
Student Nurses / AHP's
Student Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) can be identified by their silver-grey coloured uniform with dark coloured trims. They may have different logos which identify the university where they are currently studying. This may be Edinburgh Napier University, Queen Margaret University or University of Edinburgh.
Porters, Domestic, Clerical and Admin Staff
Porters, Domestics, Clerical and Admin Staff can be identified by their mid-green coloured tunic or the same coloured polo shirt. Other admin staff may not have a uniform but can be identified by their name badge or lanyard.
