Can your facility support in-patient admissions and patient visits
Yes. All sites which conduct Clinical Trials within The Edinburgh Cancer Centre can support in-patient admissions and patient visits.
Can your facility collect and store PK/PD samples
Yes. Our clinical trials research nurses are able to collect PK/PD samples and are able to process these as per your trial requirements within a dedicated research laboratory . We also have access to a dedicated research laboratory team (CRUK tissue group) who can process and store research samples according to your requirements.
Does your site use medical record database searches
Yes. Electronic Medical Records are used to screen for patients who may be eligible for Clinical Trials. We also have access to an Informatics team which can be requested to search for specific patient criteria under separate arrangement.
Can your site accommodate weekend visits
No. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate weekend visits for trial specific activities at this time.
Does your site have a 24h patient treatment helpline and in-patient unit
Yes. Patients receiving Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT) or Radiotherapy are able to contact the Cancer Treatment Helpline. This is a 24h helpline for patients experiencing symptoms which could be related to their cancer treatment. Patients requiring medical assessment will be received in the Cancer Assessment Unit.
Does your site have agreements with local hotels for providing accommodations for caregivers
No. We do not have agreements in place with local hotels to provide accommodation for caregivers.
Does your site have experience with cold-chain monitoring devices (e.g Minitag)
